Past Projects

Making it happen

Since the year 2014, Ecomake has been involved in a diverse project in collaboration with international institutions, organizations and Engineering students. These are projects that address societal problems facing communities and people In Ghana.
These projects serves as the channels through which practical or hands-on Engineering skills were imparted to the students.
In the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ecomake Innovation was represented by the CEO Mr. Philip to embark on the following project topics solar reactor and Condom vending machine. Also as part of our WHY of being in existence, Ecomake has also assisted Engineering students on different types of projects such as a multi-function car for Agricultural purpose, mini tractor, retractable canopy, portable hospital beds, and others. Feel free and scroll through some of the listed projects with their descriptions.

Solar Reactor

This project commenced in 2014 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology mechanical engineering lab in the year 2014 with students and their lecturer from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute U.S.A, The core aim of this project is to design and fabricate a sustainable solution for the kente weavers at NTONSO in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, it serves as a clean alternative for the kente cloth weavers to boil the ink used to dye the cloth. This is a mechanism that will replace the use of firewood which produces smoke and heat hazards. The solar reactor is a metal structure with a reflector that transfers heat energy to a reactor (receiver) to boil the ink and is designed with a tilting mechanism to track the sun for heat concentration. On this project, the students excitedly developed the skill to build the project all by themselves.

Car Project

In the year 2017, Ecomake Innovation assisted and led a group of final year Mechanical Engineering students at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to build a multi-functional car for Agricultural purposes such as mowing, irrigation, and others.

This is one of the projects we pride ourselves on because of the success we achieved in training the students to gain practical experience and skills through their final year project works. This is what we love to do.

Mini Tractor

In July 2019, Ecomake Innovation had the opportunity to lead and assist the final year Mechanical Engineering students to design and build a mini tractor for Agricultural purposes, we got this opportunity based on the success of the car project. While the aim is to utilize
the mechanical power of the Engine using a power take-off unit (P.T.O)  for irrigation, mowing, and other works, we ultimately transferred the practical engineering skills to the students by the tractor was built.
